Hi Everyone feels great to join this great site
On to my first post

I have had quite a few Bubble tips for approx 2 years and they seem quite happy however as you can see on my first pic about 3 month the tentacles are very long .. in the second pic which was today about 2 years the tentacles are much shorter
Is there any reason for this as the tank has stayed exactly the same
I do not feed them they have split a few times in 2 years
( the colours are different as it’s a different camera)

Looks like a nem being a nem. And a beautiful one at that! I don't see anything you should be worried about. :)

I have about 10 currently and have had to pull some over the last 6 years, i have noticed that light and flow potentially affect the bubbly-ness of the tentacles. The ones higher up on the rockwork getting blasted with both light and flow usually have long flowy tentacles while the ones lower down while still getting strong light ( it is less though as they are deeper ) and in a spot that is largely shaded from the stronger currents are exhibiting a consistent bubble shape.

More flow. But not so much they get unhappy and decide to wander off. The ones pointed to in blue get a lot more flow, coming from the back of the tank right hand side flowing toward the left and wrapping around to the front, while the ones indicated in red are more protected from that flow and are very much more bubbly. (Pardon the dirty back pane, i leave it alone for the snails and tangs to pick at)
