Wanted to get a bubble tip anemone of any type, but this is my level of salinity. I have a mushroom coral, lps coral, fan worm and gsp. They are all fine but despite that the sebae anemone that I bought only lasted within one week till it died. Was the cause of death the salinity? will a bubble tip anemone be fine with this level of salinity or should I avoid taking a chance?

Salinity probably not the issue. Acclimation or an unsuitable environment would be more likely

Salinity alone I don’t think would really kill the anemone. A few questions most people on here will have are
1. How old is your tank
2. What are your other parameters
3. Other inhabitants
4. Lighting
Was the anemone possibly infected/sick or bleached when you got it? Maybe the lighting was too strong or too low (but usually that doesn’t kill it in a week).

1. my tank is around 4 years old
2. nitrates 40 ppm and phosphate .10, ph estimated 8.4, nitrite 0 ppm, ammonia 0 ppm
3. blue hippo, flame angel, percula clownfish, yellow clown goby, pajama cardinal, kamohara blenny.
4. 2 viparspectra 165w leds
The sebae anemone was puffed up at the shop but could not see the mouth or foot, temp acclimated it for 30 minuets, did not do a drip acclimation but instead poured tank water into the acclimation bag, each time was ten minuets apart and I did that 10 times. Saw for a brief time that the foot had something brown and fleshy but did not get a good look, the anemone did not eat after the first day. It's tentacles did grab the piece of shrimp I gave it but did not eat it.

Could be a combination of things, alot of shops run their tanks at a lower salinity to help control parasites say 1.020 or lower. Maybe it came from an environment like that to your higher salinity tank withe what sounds like an injured foot and couldn't adapt.

Bubble tips are hard to kill.

Made sure it looks healthy.

Make sure the shop doesn’t hurt its foot while removing (this it tricky but can be done)

Turn off flow after acclimating the method you used is fine.

Put him by hand around where you want him, he may or may not attach but give home 20 minutes or so and see.

Turn flow back on slowly until he attaches and watch him make sure hit foot attaches before going full bore and make sure he doesn’t get sucked up into a power head.

Ideally you want him attached to a rock they will “walk around a little bit” once the settle they usually stay put if happy.

Often times sebae anemones come in super bleached and unhealthy and I believe are wild so even harder to have in captivity. If the sebae tentacles were white I would say it was bleached and already sick and on its way out when you got it. If I recall correctly, they should be a more light brown color.

would a 2 hour drip acclimation be overkill?

Bubble Tip and seabaes may have chemical warfare
