I just picked up some used Bubble Magus dosing pumps (ts1). I am wanting to change out the tubing in the head before I start using them. Does anyone know what tubing I should be using?
I read online the factory tubing is 2mm ID and 4mm OD. I was hoping to use PharMed tubing but I’m not finding it in metric sizes. Other than PharMed I’m not really sure what other tubing is okay to use for a dosing pump head.

Are they used? Just curious why you are swapping out the tubing.

Yes sorry I forgot to mention that they were used pumps that I got from a member on here for a great price. They’re in good shape other than the tubing is in pretty bad shape. I got 6 of them for a little over $15 each with shipping so I couldn’t pass them up. While trying to hook up my tubing to the pumps to test them I actually ripped one of the tubes in the pump head. I could just buy new heads but I’d pay more for the head than the pump itself, and I would prefer just to replace the peristaltic tubing itself but I’m having a hard time finding the tubing that I need.

OK, that makes sense. I'd go with silicone tubing. Amazon's got a bunch. Like $10 for 10 ft. Would also consider getting a check valve for each as well. Also on AMZ and dirt cheap. Without it I was getting lots of bubbles so the dosing wasn't accurate. Check valve cleared that up.

I didn’t realize that regular silicone tubing was good enough for a peristaltic pump. In the past I have used PharMed and Santoprene tubing but I’m not finding either of those in metric sizes.

Over time, with all the stuff we pump through it, it'll need to be swapped out but it works fine. I'm actually using RO tubing on one of mine.

I also found where I can buy small pieces of tubing from bubble magus but there is a pretty significant cost increase compared to buying just a 10’ piece of tubing.

Yeah, I had seen those. Didn't feel it was worth the extra .

I will only be pumping small amounts of liquid (10ml/day) through them so it shouldn’t wear out too quick, plus if I’m just using cheap silicone tubing it’s not big deal for me to replace them once a year or so.

Yes, but it's the type of liquid that does the damage, not the amount. For example I dose sodium hydroxide for my alk. Extremely high PH and caustic. Takes it's toll on the tubing. Also over time they seem to clog as well. One of the tricks I learned was to bundle my ATO tubing with my dosing tubing. This way, when the ATO kicks in, it washes off the ends of the dosing tubes keeping them clog-free.

Yes it would be things that are not caustic going through the pump, trace elements, Acropower, etc.
I need to do the same thing with the ends of my 2 part dosing lines letting them get rinsed off with my ATO but it’s one of the things that I never got around to doing. I also considered setting up a Neptune pmup to constantly run water over the ends of my dosing lines, I even bought the pmup and then never set that up either.
