Cant wait to see what you can do with that Heaven & Hell Millie!!!
I am sure it will turnout like everyone else but I wanted to try and see what would happen. I was trying to search to see if anyone ever had it turnout like the pic and there wasn't one single pic of it like the original. The closest one I seen was one from a member here named reefnjunkie but it's not the original one.

What do you attribute to getting those blood red colors?
In my old set up I used to get that but not any more. My reds and pinks are light and faded. Is this potassium related?
I honestly have no idea. Might be just a matter becoming settled in the tank. My JF jolt didn't have ANY red in the polyps and I didn't even want to take a pic of it. One day out the blue I noticed the polyps had some red. On the Aquatic-man I wish it wasn't so red and more of the orange you see in Adams pic. Somewhere Adam mentioned his original piece had the red like that and you can see it in his colony pic (top left of his pic) and once it grew out, it got that orange. Even the CB Maleficent I have seen people say theirs is orange. Mine has no orange in it what so ever.

Original frag had orange like his pic. March 15

I am starting to believe Fedex is garbage, at least their Memphis hub is. I would say about 25% of the time my frags go through there they get held up. About a month ago I shipped someone some corals and they got held up for FOUR days in Memphis.

Yeah I'm from Wisconsin so they ship it to Memphis from battlecorals which is in Wisconsin and then up to Appleton I don't get it

Man nice stuff. Your corals are looking great right now. I'm intrigued by your use of a CO2 scrubber. I've been pondering whether or not to use one of those. My pH has been consistently low (7.7-7.9) most of the year so far. How quickly do you go through the media? Do you just run it on your Skimmer air intake line?

I used a co2 scrubber in the past but gave up on it because the media was lasting 2-3 days and was costing $30 a month in media. I read the media will last way longer if you connect one side of the scrubber to the skimmer intake and the other to the top of skimmer cap, so it will recirculate the scrubbed air. I was always paranoid to do that because if my skimmer overflows it will just suck up into the media and go into my tank. I finally got tired of low ph (mine was same as yours) and wanted to try the scrubber again but this time I set it up the way I was scared to do. I have my skimmer drain into a bucket in case it overflows so it wont go into the media. If you have an apex and can put a float switch in the skimmer lid to turn off the skimmer. I am using a different media this time and it seems to last about 2 weeks before I have to switch the media. I am not sure if it last longer because of the different media or because I have the scrubber plumbed differently.

For what it's worth I believe my systems growth is better with a higher ph and I won't run a system again with low ph.

That's interesting. I guess I'm curious how this affects the O2 exchange if you're recirculating like that? I guess the skimmer lid is not 100% air tight, so you're still probably pulling in some room air along with the recirculated air.

My buddy was going to run a scrubber but decided not to so I bought it from him. I have no idea where he got it.

This is the media I originally used. I have a full one for when the other runs out. I will compare which last longer.

Ryan from BRS is one of my friends. He was telling me a year or so ago about testing co2 scrubbing and the affects on Alk Consumption. Not sure if a video was ever made or not but the raise in ph almost consistently doubles the amount of Alk Consumption within the tank... meaning it absolutely increases coral growth compared to running the exact same tank with lower ph.

No the lid is not air tight. In the pic you can see how I have it plumbed. I am running two canisters for the scrubber so when one media runs out I don’t see a drop in ph before I have a chance to change it.

Yeah I run that through my skimmer like that I got the stuff from Bulk Reef last about 2 to 3 weeks the objective is to keep the media humidified and it works good
