Oh wait. Just noticed that's a rainbow month creeping on the digi! You got me Bubba!?
Yeah it's a rainbow monti killing the bubblegum digi. The monti is probably 8 inches across now. I feel I would need a lot of kalk paste to kill and I worry about it spiking ph or alk. I think my only option is to try and control it with super glue at this point.

This is just straight acro goals right here ;Stop
Thank you!

That's exactly what I had to do. Pulled the entire rock and cut the encruting piece out
That is what I am trying to avoid. If it was just the top rock I would but it's literally the base of my rock pile :(

Oh ya. That's a problem. Mine was a top rock with 3 acros and clam. Took about 15 minutes. Even glue won't solve your problem. Your best chance might be Moving the digi and letting the rainbow have that rock

Wise advice!
The Monti will lose the battle every time in my tank. lol.

I have removed most encrusting Montis from my tank for this reason. This is also the reason I use tiles instead of live rock. So easy to remove a whole tile and move or trim the piece.

By the way, those are both good looking corals, it is a shame the Monti must lose! lol.

The tiles is a smart move and being able to move around trouble pieces is wise.

In this case it’s the bubblegum digi losing the war.:(

I have something similar to your piece.
This is not the prettiest coral but it may be one of the fuzziest. This is hands down the hairiest coral I own. I just wish the polyps would get a better color. I do notice some polyps are starting to transition slightly. This frag has a little better color. I have shared this coral once before. It is a mariculture I picked up a while ago.

Anyone know what species it is?

I got it from ASD labeled as Submarine Tenuis 20180616_202042.jpg

Rookie mistake :p haha

Just get some putty and cover it over completely :) problem solved and there's no fragging or mess required :) that's what I do or super glue You can use boiling ro as well but it's too close to the bubblegum for that! Boiling ro is an AMAZING problem solver! Completely reef safe and very destructive haha

I'll be curious how you like the fixture Bubba I've thought about something similar for my 60 gallon.
For the t5's I went with two blue+ and two actinic. I turned on the ab+ program today and I must say the tank has a very different look than I am use to. It didn't see to be as bright to my eyes as the ATI fixture either. I will see if my LFS has the par meter in tomorrow so I can adjust it.
