Very nice!

Question for you? Out of curiosity you have your MPs mounted on the back glass instead of the side. You feel that gives you better flow? I see most mounted on the sides, including mine, but maybe this is the solution I’m looking for to get more random flow in my 150 SPS tank.

Also, I notice some drags are pretty close/directly in front of the MPs does that seem to matter? Seems like a concentrated amount of flow, but your results speak for themselves!

Thanks!

It's gonna be a beauty once it's all grown in! Really nice build Bubba.
Thank you, sir!

I have four of the mp40's mounted on the back wall and one mp60 mounted on the right glass.

I am sure if you put them on the sides and back you would get better flow but I really didn't want it blocking my view more than it has to and seems to work fine.

I did have issues putting the corals to close to the powerheads as it blew the skin off the backs on some of them. I was pretty shocked when I went to move my Aquaticman colony and realized there was no skin on the side facing the powerhead. I started to look around and seen the others that were directly in front had the same issue. I posted the cherry bomb pic last week and pointed out the weird growth it gets now because of the direct flow. At the time I ran all pumps at 100% but now two are set at 50% and the others are 70% max power.

Hmmmmm
So anyone claiming to have sps 6-8” directly in front of an mp60 pulsing at 100% is, um,
(Cough) Full Of It???

Makes sense. I won’t be sharing pictures as frequently, so I guess I’ll live with the vermetids. I have some very fine chalk powder, I might try the snow treatment to see if I can knock them back.

Did anybody find a way to nuke Vermetid snails?

my tank has never really disco effects with the radion's (4 pieces) but some have only one lamp and then makes a diffuse sense. the disco effect is really unbearable with just one lamp. a known one of me has only one radion and that seems cruel! Tank's with several Radion's need no diffuser. it just goes too much lost in intensity and make the sps look dull. do not misunderstand, i love the radion's and hope that ecotech will improve there and a similar solution, such as ATI has just done and installed a prism plate diffuser!

If a coral is placed near the powerhead some are able to grow into the harsh flow of the powerhead without getting the flesh peeled off, some will grow away from it though. But if you place a random coral right in front of it then it’s likley to peel. The thicker nubby reefcrest acros are better at taking flow close to a powerhead.

Yeah I accidentally positioned the cage on my gyre to point directly at a monti, the next day a bunch of the flesh was gone. Got to pay attention to that I’m the future.

Would you place any acro 6-8” in front of an MP60 pulsing at 100%?
