I thought this was a SPS thread? :(
It is, bud. I needed advice on some new lights for my sps frag tank. Who better to ask than people who follow an sps thread?

I call this one my Unlucky PC Rainbow. I traded some frags for a red planet. The frag was browned out but I wasn't too worried, as I knew it would eventually color up. Well the frag started to color and grow and I noticed the frag was not starting to table, as a red planet does. I reached out to the guy and asked if he was sure it was a red planet. He assured me it was but I had doubts. I have never seen his tank, so I could only go by his word. Couple months later I was sure it was a pc rainbow. The guy did up reaching out to me about two months ago and said he was wrong and that it is in fact a pc rainbow and he was fooled when he bought it. I call it my unlucky pc rainbow because if you look at the pic, you will see another pc rainbow right next to it. I was hoping to have a tabling acro that would grow out the ledge but now I have two pc rainbows side by side. :(

I think, at this point, we need a nice HD video of the tank @bubbaque
I do plan to someday. I have a video I made when the tank was first setup. It will be cool to see where it started and how far it has come. I do want things to get slightly larger so you're not watching a video of frags.

This is not the prettiest coral but it may be one of the fuzziest. This is hands down the hairiest coral I own. I just wish the polyps would get a better color. I do notice some polyps are starting to transition slightly. This frag has a little better color. I have shared this coral once before. It is a mariculture I picked up a while ago.

Anyone know what species it is?

Will it get less hairy if you move it way up high - some of those super-hairy tenius will have less PE with massive amounts of light. It is cool. I like it. I like anything that is different.

I can’t really move it higher as it’s just in a frag tank with no rock. I originally had it in the middle of the frag tank under roughly 500 par. It stayed there for probably 4-5 months. The whole time the polyps have stayed the same. About a month or two ago I moved it to the side of the frag tank and it’s getting 300 par now. Polyps are still the same but I noticed the skin got more of a blue color, compared to the tan it was.

No idea on the species, but it reminds me of RR Peacock? Maybe they are same species?

I think it is a tenuis. Most millies I see now a days have one extra long polyp and very uniform and patterned coralites. The tenuis however can have off set coralites also like a vermiculata, however the PE on that is crazy and its a bit hard to tell with the polpys out.
