How slow of a grower is this really? Insanely slow or just not real fast?
I have learned over time Cody to not listen to the speed at which some people say corals grow at. I have found it all matters on how well your tank is doing at the time you got the corals. If you get a new frag when your tank is in a rough spot it may be a slow grower forever but if you get a known slow grower and your tank is rocking it will grow that coral fast.

My old BC bubble bath unicorn barely grows. I got a couple new frags of it and it's growing way faster than my old frag. Another example is OG Purple monster. Most say it's a slow grower but Farmerty grows it fast without any issue.

Very true. Thanks man!

I am going to use radions and t5’s.

I’ll send you the list soon. I have to get home and come up with a list of what I’m keeping and what’s going.

I am pretty excited.

I’ve been debating on starting a new thread or sharing the process through this thread. I am leaning toward sharing through this thread as it is “Bubba’s sps journey” after all, lol.
Hey Bubba, send me that list too. I'm sure you have a few I don't :)

I think this coral will be impressive when it gets some size to it.

I had one of these about 5yrs ago and it was very unique at the time. Mine had more color in lower light, but also developed a cool white tone if hit with a lot of PAR.

So Adam, would you say Bubba has the most battlecorals outside of your facility???

Thats good question. He's got a lot of my higher end stuff and is probably the best showcase on the web, for every piece of mine he's got. I am continually blow away by his pics in this thread. But, there's a few people out there who have gotten the coveted "one of everything special" and those guys just about have them all.

I don't think any of us want to know how much the coveted "one of everything special costs"....

Bubba takes great, realistic pictures. Was just talking to him via PM about vendors that only take pics in blues, and that realistic pictures are what make you stand out. If I like a coral that you both have taken pictures of, I know I am going to like it in person as well.

I’ve been slacking on coral pics lately as I’m trying to get ready for the new tank. I’ve been building the stand this previous week and next week a buddy and I are going to build the sump.

I still need to finish the other door, sand, stain and add knobs.

good job keeping the hinges on the outside. my rusty hinges caused heavy metals issues for me all last year

Please keep the details of your new build coming! What do you plan to use for live rock?
I really wanted the Haitian rock but it’s not being imported. It seems like all the nice rock that was being imported is all shut down now and the only stuff that’s really available is the reef saver rock so I went with that.

This tank will be my first bare bottom tank so I’m excited and nervous about that.

Great update, keep up the good/hard work, the finish line is in sight.
Thanks!

Oooh new build with my teary eyed dream tank dimensions! One day... one day.

Gonna be epic! Who's building the beast?

So.... no frag tanks? I'll believe it when I see it. Haha! Seriously though congrats and excited to watch!

Looks good, but that top trim will make it difficult to slide the tank in place without causing a bit of damage. No 80/20? :)
