What type of screen if you don’t mind me asking? Sounds interesting ;)
He means the LCD screen on the back of the Nikon D5300. It flips out and can rotate so for those hard shots that you aren't able to view through the viewfinder, you can stare at the screen to position your shot instead.

Hey bubba! Question for you.. Do you know what par you keep your bc aquatic man under?
I got mine from Adam about 5 months ago it was a turd stick out of the bag lol. Then it green, but now after it’s encrusted forever I’m getting new growth tips everywhere. It’s got some red in it now. I assume you had to let it grow out a bit before you got the strong red out of it? I’m really excited about this one and snipers bubblegum that on my rack.
I also got the backdraft table after I saw yours ;).

Save yourself some money by making your own fish food!

How much do you feed per day? For some reason since I’ve been feeding frozen, my skimmer is always acting up. Not that it overflows but the skimmer loses foam.

Its pretty normal for the oils in the food to kill the head on the skimmer, never had an issue from it

Yeah I use to feed my fish only flake and frozen just once in awhile and never had an issue. Since my fish love frozen so much, I decided to feed frozen only and twice a day and noticed my skimmer is a lot more inconsistent. Tends to skim wet and the foam is lost for quite some time not just an hour or so. Not sure if it’s something that’s normal.

Mysis was usually the worst for killing the head, but i make homemade and it seems to not effect my skimmer anymore

I wish I could help more on the par but I have no idea. It's under my radions run at 100% and 4 t5 bulbs. The lights are pretty far off the tank but I believe the tank the aquatic-man is in has the highest par of any of my other tanks

I feed one of those cut out slices plus pellets a couple other times.

Reefer40b pretty much nailed it with the foam and frozen food. If you are feeding frozen mysis or some of the other store bought frozen foods that comes in those portioned little squares it will kill the skimmer foam. The frozen mysis might be the worst to feed as it has a ton of oils in it. Mike paletta had a video where he showed just how dirty frozen mysis can be. Making your own food at home or buying some clean frozen food like LRS usually doesn't give your skimmer much of an issue.

I think you guys made me realize the problem. I’ve been feeding a ton of mysis to get my leopard wrasse and copperbands use to frozen. Now that they’re good with LRS I may just have to stop with all the mysis. Thanks so much!!

Mind sharing what settings you usually use to get those shots? I have a 100mm macro and cant seem to get them look like that.

Do you have a picture you can share? It is usually easier to see what can be done by looking at an example.

For instance, Bubba appears to be shooting with a small aperture to get so much in focus. But this would mean he is shooting higher iso as well. To lock all that movement down, he would need to shoot at or greater than 1/focal length of the lens. White balance and such can be taken care of in post. I increase the white balance to the max color temperature, i.e. ~50000K, then adjust the color using saturation and vibrance to bring it back to what you see. This helps to get rid of that crazy blue hue but retain the colors you normally see with the naked eye.

How’s this look compared to a red devil naustasia? Seems like the tips are similar
I will take a new pic of the Red devil but it's way, way different.

I shared these pics on my IG recently but since I am trying to give examples I will post them again. Sorry to those who already seen them.

My settings don't change too much from picture to picture, a slight difference here and there but generally the same. What changes a lot is the distance from the lens to the coral.

The picture you asked about was taken with these camera settings. I take pics in manual, Shutter speed 1/100, Aperture F16 and ISO 800. The way Nikon D5300 camera handles iso is amazing. On my old Nikon D3000 at 800 iso the pics would have tons of noise (little dots all over).

That was the settings for that pic.

This pic has close to the same settings but you can see how close it is compared to the one above. It just depends on how close you are to the coral. If you want to show more of the coral, back up some, want to show up close detail, move in. Shutter 1/100, Apeture F13 and ISO 640.

I posted this pic already but just to show it's the distance to the coral. Shutter 1/100, Apeture F13 and ISO 640

I can try and answer anymore questions you have but I am still a novice when it comes to taking pics. The more pictures you take the better you will get. I enjoy taking pics and seeing myself improve only leaves me wanting to take more pics.
