Ouch it’s that much better then ur original macro we both have?
It’s just different. I didn’t have a fixed focal length macro lens so I figured I’d try this one and see if I could get sharper pics.

It allows you to get up close and takes pics of fine detail like this pic.

What PAR is your Balrog in? I got probably the worst frag cut of all time a few months back...must've been completely shaded, as it came in completely white/gray. I have it at 300 or so. It has developed the yellow, but the growth pattern of the original frag had zero corallites. The body is still very white, pale, almost translucent.

I wish I could tell you but I think my par readings under the radions were wrong. I think the radions have much higher par than the readings I got as when I get new frags from people they will bleach them out in a heartbeat if I am not careful. It was in my display getting about 400 par but the color wasn't as vivid.

Thanks!

I bought a new Tamron 90mm. I am beginning to really enjoy photography and I take so many pictures to share I figured it was worth it to me.

I got this same lens a couple weeks ago. Glad you got one, now I have someone to teach me how to use it! Lol. It takes great portrait photos as well! I ordered a camera tube to take "in water" pics, should be here tomorrow. Now I just need my new system to get rolling so I have something to photograph! Lol

What intensity do you run your radions? How long? I think you said you run ab+, but what overall intensity?

I run the radions at 100%. I originally ran the ab+ program but changed the red, white and greens from 24% to 15%.

Hey no guts, no glory! Makes sense to me. We pay all this money for these lights, might as well use them!
My lights are pretty high off the water though. The tank is 10" deep but my lights are something like 16-18" off the water.

I just got a frag if this from dan but had ordered it sight unseen so I’m very excited to see how it goes now I’ve seen this pic![/QUOTE]Nice! It's a really fast grower so put it somewhere where it won't grow into other corals like i did, lol.

The new lens is something else man! Those shots are some of the best I've ever seen :D the colours on your pieces are outstanding! You should be terribly proud of your efforts!
Thanks Dom! I hope the more I use the lens the better I get with it.

Sure. I did borrow one from TSA but I’m not sure it reads the radions correctly. If it did it said my tank gets par from 285-350. Those numbers are lower than what I get on my t5 setups but it will bleach a coral if I’m not careful and that’s why I think the reading is off.

So I'm curious are you running an acclimation mode when you place new acros or just move them up over time? I just bought a SQ-120 and got it hooked up to a multimeter so the PAR reading fun will begin!
