This is where my confusion comes in. I have a XL525. The #42222 is described as 20-25mm and the #42221 is 16mm. But I believe both threaded ends are the same size and can connect to any Redsea union. Does the millimeter measurement describe the barbed end or output?
In the post above mstgkillr referenced this method Randy C used and this appears to be the #42221 part with the barb unscrewed and removed. I'm little hesitant with cement bonding the Spears 32mm x 1" to the outer surface of the Redsea adapter but I'm still trying to figure out if the #42221 threaded coupler will work on the XL525.
