I purchased over a week ago a yellow faced candy goby and so rarely see him/her! It's always hiding somewhere like in the rock crevice on the sand bed....I knew that gobies can be exclusive, but didn't know it was to this degree.....I have yet to enjoy this fish. :)

They're very cryptic. Adding a randals pistol shrimp can make them a little more confident. They will have a borrow together that usually keeps the fish more in one place and visible more since it has a place to hide.

This is kinda something people miss when doing minimal aquascapes as well. In my experience when fish have lots of hiding spots and territory they feel is there's like with a large aquascape, they're more likely to be out and about and relaxed swimmers you can regularly see.
