Hi i recently bought a new blue tang and i think it has hlle disease. I have a 260 display tank that is treated with copper before. I dont plan on adding inverts or coral to the tang so i put copper in.

I have attach some pic of the fish below. Is it hlle disease? And how should i treat it?

I thinks it’s very minor if at all. I’m not an expert though but @Jay Hemdal is.

I would make sure he gets fed a lot of high quality frozen and pellet food and some nori every day.

Looks very minor to me, if at all. Copper doesn’t cause this, but using dusty carbon does.

How to train them to eat nori? All 3 tangs of mine doesnt touch nori at all. (Vlamingi, blonde naso and blue tang)

Give them a day or two without food then put it on a clip. You could also try chopping it up like flake food and see if they go for it. Sometimes it takes fish a few goes before they recognise and like a new food.

Would check all three possible culprits in the butt
-stop using carbon if you are
-check for stray voltage. A gfci outlet paired with a ground probe will immediately make you aware of this
-high quality diet

I would use a clip and keep trying. They will eventually eat it.
