Hello, I have a black widow anemone and it recently moved between rocks. While moving it left behind a quarter sized peice of flesh that is stuck to the rock. Do you guys think it will grow to be an anemone or will it just die off?

Sorry I dont have the answer but I'm very interested to see how this turns out. I almost bought a black widow today... they are beautiful! I have a white bubble tip and it recently climbed into a hole in my live rock and didnt come out for 2 days. Then it came out today but in two different spots! I believe its splitting and turning into multiple anemones. I know they can split and turn into multiple anemones so I hope this is how it turns out for you!Hello, I have a black widow anemone and it recently moved between rocks. That looks like a piece of its foot. Did it do that by itself? It's strange that it would lacerate its foot without including any of the oral disk. Here is the anemone

Interested to see what becomes of that foot.
It moved by itself and left that on the other rockIt will not grow another anemone from they piece. Best to leave them be and don’t move them around, doing more harm than good
Some people don’t actually read posts, they just answer. Albeit, a comma would have been ideal between moving and it.It moved by itself and left that on the other rock
