I picked up a fish from a local guy recently and it turns out, it was harboring black ich and now some of my other fish got it. I read about freshwater dips and formalin but I have some corals in my tank to use formalin and freshwater dip is out of the question because I can't catch the fish every 3 days to keep dipping it, especially with the rock work in my tank.

I read that Prazipro works for black ich so I went ahead and started it earlier today. How long should I treat for it? Does it have the same cycle as flukes or is it longer/shorter? Should I also medicate the food with metro/focus along with the prazi treatment or no? The bottle says not to use with other medications but not sure about medicated food.

I would highly suggest getting the infected fish out and in to a hospital/Quarentine tank and treating all the effected fish there. Seeing that it's very much like Crypt I would treat the same length of time that you would traditioinally treat Crypt for. I could be wrong on the time, someone with more knowledge than I hopefully can give you the correct time.

Chasing the fish every 3 days aside, try and soak the food in Garlic X, this will entice the fish and likely keep it eating. Other an other note, if the fish is strong enough, you need do nothing but feed him every day, keep him fattened up and he will beat it himself.
