Hello. We just noticed today a few spots on our Angel. Not sure if it is damage to scale as she swims very fast thru our rock work. She appears to be fine otherwise, eating normal, swimming etc.

Tank parameters :

Temp 78.2
Alk 7.6-
Mag 1200
Calcium - 450
Phosphate 0.05
Nitrate 1 ppm
Salinity 1026

Is the angel new to the tank?
Have you noticed any aggressive behavior from other more established fish such as the foxfsce? Perhaps set up your camera to video the tank for a while when you can walk away to see what happens

No not new. But the Angle has been very aggressive chasing the Damsels through the rock. I didn’t know the Angle could be so fast. I’m thinking the damage is from going threw the smaller holes chasing hard and fast.

This is a scrape type injury and concern is condition of scales. Separate angel in A separate tank and while youre at it, add Ruby rally pro which is both safe and will assist with healing and prevention of infection

I would recommend keeping things as they are - UNLESS - extrememly important - there is evidence that the wound is progressing. If so - I would transfer the fish to a hospital tank with an antibiotic such as neomycin or kanamycin
