Bleach and water or Acid wash using Muriatic Acid.
LIVE ROCK ACID BATH - REEFEDITION
Muratic acid followed by 1 week RO (change water every other day). Then lanthanium (sic) chloride for 2 weeks. Once the precipitation is reduced 1-2 more RO/DI baths and you have the cleanest rock that contains no phosphates available for algae to grow on. I did this with all my recent dry rock and had minimal bloom (except for the new tank stuff).
I've been wanting to get some new rock recently, I've held off because I'm concerned with Phos. What amount of time did you have the rock in the acid?
