I want to hear your opinions on these 2 skimmers for a JBJ 45 build coming. If you have owned both let me hear what your thoughts??

1- Tunze Comline Doc Smikker 9004 or

2- CAD Lights PLS-50 Elite II Nano Pipeless Protein Skimmer

I am not looking for any HOB Skimmers for this build. Welcome to suggestions on any new skimmer coming out to the market.

I have the Tunze 9004 in a JBJ 45 Flat Panel. Works great and runs silent. I run it in the second chamber. I just gave it its first major cleaning after 3 months and must say, it was not too bad. I could have gone longer for sure, but was glad to clear out the bottom grate. Could have done that without disassembling of course too. After the cleaning it was louder for about one day, then back to silent.

Update: Had to replace the pump within a year. Has run fine since but now having the same problem. I will be ditching this and trying the 9004 by Tunze.

I have the JBJ 45 AIO with CAD Lights PLS-50 Elite II. Its a royal pain to get working but once you do it does a great job. Just when you clean it you get to tweak it to make it work.
