Multiple mentions of using the mazzei Venturi. Is it a big difference versus the standard Venturi?
It definitely pulls more air, if I put my thumb over the air tube it produces enough vacuum to collapse the tube into itself. Jeff as I recall said it's about a ten percent difference but I think that's an underestimate.

Lower your bubble line to where the sticker is.
So you run yours with the top of the bubble line at the sticker (or just below the neck) and allow it to foam up the neck from time to time as it pulls out gunk?

After replacing my Sicce 9, the skimmer is running better once again. Something was wrong with that last pump causing it to not run smoothly, which was causing water level to fluctuate. Very hard to dial in with the rate changing up and down on its own…

Yes I keep my bubble line about midway on the sticker. When I set it up that's what Jeff told me to do and it works well for me.

Makes sense, I was tuning it for the bubbles to be up in the neck, but I think that is giving me too wet of a skimmate. Still a bit early for me to truly be tuning as I do not have a ton of organics in the water with such a young tank.
