Battle of the Inverts! Who is the star of the show, Starfish or Urchins?

Id strongly advise you to try to identify the species. Judging only by the pictures it looks like it's a species that probably feeds on biofilm. Are you feeding it?

It has black tips on the tips of the legs. My LFS told me it would eat the pods and the algae and pretty much everything else in the tank floating around. I have even seen it devour an algae pellet. So far it seems fine. But again I’m new to this so any advice you may have for keeping this star alive would be appreciated.
