Hey guys. I’m almost too embarrassed to post. I’ve lost like 8 mushrooms and I think it’s all my over managing of my tank. Help me mushroom lords.
I don’t know what it is, I’ve lost:
The tank, and my mushrooms husbandry:
I dose daily;
- AB+ (4ml)
- MECoral Nitrates (2ml)
- neophos (1ml)
I spot feed mysis, eggs, and oyster feast 2-4 times a week.
I have a coral banded shrimp, a tuxedo urchin, a diamond goby, a corris wrasse and a black ice clown.
I don’t know what it is, I’ve lost:
- Aqua SD Sunkist Bounce
- Aqua SD Sunkist Bounce (5th and 6th photo - before and after)
- LFS Bounce
- 3 out of 4 Rhodactis from a colony (8th photo is the last survivor)
- Green and purple slime rhodactis (2nd photo) (7th photo before)
- Blue man’s disco (1st photo)
- DK Yuma (3rd photo)
- Green Yuma (4th photo)
The tank, and my mushrooms husbandry:
- 20g AIO Nuvo
- Running filter floss and carbon
- DIY Refugium in the 2nd chamber
- Running nicrew 150w, from 11am-11pm on at most 40% blue intensity/5% white
- This light, because of size constraints is 4 inches off my water (refer to my last photo)
- 2 1/2 months old
- Not housing anything near my mushrooms they would harm them
- They’re kept in the lower 20% of the tank with little to no flow.
- Parameters are:
- Ph: 7.9 - I can’t raise this no matter what I do. Plants, open windows, etc.
- Salt: 1.025 - was 1.022 for awhile and I’ve slowly raised it
- Temp: 77.4 F - had a sharp drop when a heater broke mid March, this is what killed my Rhodactis colony I think
- Nitrate: 17 tonight
- Nitrite: >.03
- Phosphate: 0.1-03
- Alk: 9.5 - been letting it drop from the 12-15 range I was in in early March
- Magnesium: 1700 - I dosed too much over the last 3 days and raised this from 1210 to 1700 in 3 days. I’m assuming this is my issue.
- Calcium: 375
