Hey guys got a bamboo shark from my lfs 4 days ago. He’s a baby about 16-20cm.
Has been qtd at the lfs for a month before I bought it.
He’s in a 150g at the moment with 2 clowfish, 1 wrasse and one baby purple tang.
He doesn’t seem stressed, he’s not swimming frantically or anything like that. When he goes for a swim tho it does seem like something is odd, he sorta twitches a bit when he goes to turn to one side and occasionally flips or half flip and then goes back to normal. He did eat on his first night, and on the 3rd night. Not much but he’s tiny.
Water parameters are
Ammonia 0
Alk 11
Nitrates 40
Nitrites 0.2

All the other fish and coral are eating well and looking good.
Wondering if it’s something to worry about?
Thanks

That behavior is how this species scratches themselves. That in turn can be a result of parasites, or just dust particles in the water. If the fish isn't breathing fast, and is still eating well, I wouldn't worry about it. If you post a short video under white lights, I can tell you if it is breathing normally or not.

Also, when it does turn on its side, take a look at its belly - watch for red spots, like a rash.
