Sounds like it could be low nutrient issue.. also moving it around stresses it out more.. if you know light parameters are good it is usually better to leave it in a single place and let it try to recover rather than move it around d frequently
I don’t mean like I’m moving it every day, I leave it for a couple weeks to a month. I’ve had this frag for about 4 months with no luck. What would you recommend trying?

I had a Montipora that was doing the same thing. I fixed mine by doing water changes less frequently. Seemed insane to me until my corals all started growing faster. I was going 10gals 3 or 4 times a month on a 40g. Now i do it 2 times a month.

It’s funny that you say that, I’ve reduced water changes since my dosing is super dialed in an consistent, everything is exploding except for the burning banana and I also have a wwc lemon lime, both hate me.

In coral time a couple weeks is fast.. if I were you I would find a good spot.. leave it.. check nutrients and feed amino’s/reefroids and watch my nutrients.. I have had some pale up and stay that way for 6 months or more then one day just decide to color up and grow.. it is about stability and providing what the corals need

I would try to keep some nutrients in that water especially with your alk that high, it'll help.
I recommend raising them to 5-10

Some times certain corals just don’t like our systems.. I have had two pc rainbows that have just died in my system for no reason all other sps doing great.. giving it 1 more try though haha

Idk what I’m not giving it, I weekly target feed roids to every piece, params stay consistent, flow consistent, just weird. I glued the son of a ***** down and I’m hoping for the best, was just curious as to why this one kind of coral hates me so much

That's why I have afew tanks. So thrive in 1 and die in others

That's true. I couldn't keep zenia when I first started. People told me that's good, years later I'm glad I couldn't

I’ve got a tank I’m waiting to start until after I move so I don’t crash 2 when I move lol
Waiting on a move is why I haven't bought a large reef tank yet. I'm wanting a 180-220, but we're planning to move so I'm putting it off a few years. Too much to put into a tank that size just to up and move it 2-3 years into maturity.

In the meantime, I started a 10g cube along with my Biocube32. Because apparently I don't have enough hair algae.
