No worries at all only kidding about being lazy. This tank is the only thing I care about other my soccer That’s it. Just trying to have a successful tank with little money.

I have tried the frozen mysis shrimp he swims up to it and has a tiny little bit. How do I tell if he is breathing fast?

Breathing should be less than 120 gill beats per minute. Take a video and then count the gill beats in a certain number of seconds. Let’s say you count 20 in 15 seconds. That would be 80 per
Minute.

Just to clarify, that purple tang in the picture has a bad case of marine ich, not velvet. True velvet (Amyloodinium) will cause rapid breathing as the only symptom up until close to the time of death, then you will see a sort of dusty appearance to the fish's skin.

Did you find that picture here? We had some misidentified disease pictures, and I tried to change them, but I may have missed this one....

Yup, have a close look at him and see if he has spots.
Is he eating anything?
It would not be unusual for this fish to be very shy and “hiding”.
This one is 5 years old and “hides” wedged in his cave every night without fail.
Perhaps he’s eating and you don’t see it?
At 6 days, he may stay in his safe “hiding” spot until you leave.

If you do see spots, you’ll need to treat him and the DT.

You can consider Hyposalinity or TTM if it is ick.

He is eating some pellets that do fall to the ground and sit there. I do see spots sometimes you can see them sometimes you can’t. What does DT mean?

spots sometimes still isn’t a good thing .
could be stress , or could be ich parasites in the system

I would say as long as you keep him fat and healthy in all other ways it will be a better chance of naturally dealing with itself however that fish looks extremely stressed and not great.
Is he still eating? Water chemistry and stability (Testing the water over a couple of days at the same time will tell you the stability) are also good pieces of information to know.

He has died now. A couple days ago couldn’t find him he’s just gone now
