Just bought a dog face puffer and he looked fine but over night he has a completely white eye with a weird tip on it. He is still eating but it’s only one eye. I have him in a bucket setup right now because he so small and so I can watch him.

It doesn’t look good
Photos are a little hard to see but depending on severity, you may need to treat to prevent it from getting worse. best treatment is Maracyn as pictured below with added aeration however biggest challenge will be measuring the powder for a bucket as each packet treats 10 gallonsI will check back with you in morning and send a picture of how he is doing
no. Maracyn and it wont make it worse and works well with eye issues.Would this work
I can order some but if I have to medicate the water would that help anything?no. Maracyn and it wont make it worse and works well with eye issues.
Eating well is a positive sign
Best done in separate tank.I can order some but if I have to medicate the water would that help anything?
Its an antibiotic and the eye is an injury likely, not a bacterial issue. Both eyes would be bacterialSo the Marcy’s 2 isn’t harmful on the fish. Isn’t it meant for bacterial stuff anyways so would it prevent bacterial infection if it’s not already there anyways
So as long as water parameters are in check It should be back to normal does this happen often with puffers or what. Is it from the rock in there. And would you say I should leave him in the bucket so I don’t have to worry about aggression and other factors? Its an antibiotic and the eye is an injury likely, not a bacterial issue. Both eyes would be bacterial
