20 hours after hatching

32 hours after hatching

All the babies in the tank melted away like sugar.

However, about 30 of them were sequentially separated into smaller tanks. Perhaps because these tanks had not housed fish, there are many pods.

If you look closely, all the tiny white dots are small pods. As a result, I don't think all of the 30 baby pipes placed in this tank will survive, and there are already many that are no longer visible, but about 10 individuals that look a bit bigger and more stable can be seen.

The goal for the first breeding is about three individuals.

The small white specks floating in the water are all pods.

The little fan-tail that looks like its dad is adorable.

Kudos for getting this far with them! Martin Moe in his book "Breedomg the Orchid Dottyback" used a method fo raising rotifers on a prepared food for the larva fry. He details it in the appendices of his book.

Thank you for the advice.

I will read what you recommended.

Based on what I have studied, rotifers are too small for baby bluestripe pipefish to recognize as food.

Other baby fish, like clownfish, do consume rotifers. I'll keep posting updates.

Amazing! These can’t be easy to breed! Can’t wait to see what happens!
I'm looking forward to tomorrow as well. If some of the babies are still around by then, their chances of surviving to the end are much higher.

thank you!
