Hello Reefers,
It took a little while to get a build thread but its finally here!! My Name is Andy and I joined R2R in January 2020. I started my first reef tank in February 2020. I’ve always been a freshwater guy and still have a 125G freshwater tank. I bought this Red Sea Reefer 350 from another local reefer and was softy and zoas tank. I have been upgrading equipment since and now is a sps dominant tank.
Equipment:
Tank - Red sea reefer350
Lights- 3 x Ecotech Radion XR30 Blue
Return - Eectech Vectra L2
Flow - 4 x Ecotech Vortech MP40
Heaters - Finnex TH Deluxe Titanium 500 Watt and 300 watt with two Aqua Logic controllers and both Aqua Logic are plug into Apex.
Fan - 2 x Honeywell wall fans
Skimmer- NYOS Quantum 160
Controller - Neptune Apex 2016 version
Dosing - Neptune DOS
Test Kits - Neptune Trident, Hanna Alkalinity Checker, Hanna Phosphate ULR Checker, Hanna Calcium Checker, Red Sea Alkanlinity, Red Sea Calcium, Salifert Magnesium, NYOS Nitrate, and Apogee 510.
Light Schedule - Radion AB+
Maintenance Schedule:
- 10% water change weekly
- change BRS carbon every two weeks
Testing Schedule:
Neptune Trident running on minimum 4-2-2. I also do manual testing on all parameters weekly.
Dosing Schedule:
BRS 2 part daily
Red Sea Trace Colors ABCD 4 ML every Sunday
Red Sea Energy AB+ 10-15 ML Daily
Parameters:
Sg - 35
Ph - 8 in morning 8.45 at the peak of the day
Temp - 78 - 79
Alk - 9 - 9.25
Calc - 440 - 480
Mag - 1300 - 1350
N03 - 5 -10
P04 - .05
I’ve done a lot of upgrades to this tank.
1st and 2nd Pic - original setup when I purchased the tank
3rd pic - Tank now.
I am working on a list of corals and will post it as soon as I completed the list.
This thread will be photo heavy as i like to track growth.
