Yes. 2 400 watt halides per fixture with led strips on each side. He decided to try out the Hamilton 20k on his frag tanks and like them so he’s putting them on the big tank. They are reefbrite halide systems I believe. They are beautiful! Have me thinking of putting the 250 watt versions over my tank.

corey
I have them they are okay my luck has been so so with them u can’t run radiums on their ballast either so there is that
But I run the Hamilton 20k bulbs now and the looks is amazing

Just binge read this entire thread and realized we were on the Big Island at the same time. My kids and I loved seeing the huge schools of yellow tangs. Also really loved seeing the moorish idols, and all the butterfly fish. And who could forget the turtles.

My new metal halide lights arrived today for the Reef Savvy 600g display. Thank you to Brandon @Premium Aquatics for ordering these lights for me from Hamilton Technology (400 watt 20,000K full spectrum metal halide). I have been using these lights on my grow-out system recently with amazing results.

Just read through the entire thread. Wow. This is the kind of build that public aquariums aspire to, and frequently miss the mark. I'm amazed at not only the quality of the products you've gotten, but the quality of the work you put into putting the system together and making certain everything is done correctly. I'll be following along just to see what else I can learn. Thanks!

Me too! I still need to figure out how to run timers on all those metal halide ballasts within my existing electrical layout. Having difficulty finding someone local to do some more powder coat work for me as it relates to hanging the ballasts. The only shop locally open to the public may be out of business now.

Cant wait to see those in action

Thank you for the amazing compliment, kdx7214! It's been a learning experience for me and glad to share my journey with you.

Tim I know your in Ohio I believe close to Dayton. I know killerkoatings would do good work powder coating. They are in the greater Cincinnati area. They specialize in automotive parts but I’m sure they will coat anything.

He doesn't want a tank, just the idea of a tank.

My priorities changed. I like the idea of a tank. Maybe just a virtual tank? Makes for easy cleaning and less stress for sure.
