Looe Key is an amazing barrier reef! Glad you enjoyed it. The Big Island reefs were incredible.

Beautiful scenery AV! Loee Key water was not as clear as Hawaii : )

I see that! And I’m really jealous lol. I truly enjoyed our Key West trip but man your Hawaii pics have me chomping at the bit to go there!

This was my second trip to the Big Island since 2004 and yellow tangs always seemed to be plentiful. Attached a few more pictures from my stops at Red Hill & Kealakekua Bay.

Wow I was there 2 years ago and I couldn't find a single yellow Tang or flame angel in 3 different islands. Look like the fish ban is working.

Thank you for the amazing compliment. The recent trip to Hawaii rejuvenated my passion for the reefs and Hawaiian fish.

Amazing thread - amazing build - the reef pics are awesome - another league sir!

Well said. I am getting excited to complete this build so I can add a large school of Yellow tangs to my reef.

It’s amazing seeing them in the wild schooling like that. Thank you very much for sharing and I’m sure in person it was a beautiful sight!!

Since Hawaii and a recent trip to the Smoky mountains, I have been working on finishing up the plumbing on the big tank. Live rock is fully cycled and ready to support fish and corals soon.

Any updates ?

Plumbing update. This is just a dry run but everything is coming together now. Goal is to provide complete structural support for all PVC pipes connected to the system and for the plumbing to look aesthetically pleasing too!
