Hello fellow Orphek users! I'm running the new Orphek icons on my new 225g tank, and I'm wondering what schedule you guys have found to be best for your reef. I've currently got a modified version of the Helius that just extends that schedule by 2 hours to allow for a slower ramp up/down and a start in a blue/violet spectrum and gradually shift to full spectrum ramping up to the recommended 80% on all channels. What are you guys using?

Set mine up on the Helius program with 2 RB XHO bars that come on an hour after ramp and turn off hour before lights out. So far loving them vs the halides. Corals are adjusting well and adding some more colors. Have had them for a few weeks now.

I'm not going to knock people that want some extra blue, but It kills blue, purple and even red and pink to some degree in the corals. I'm talking strictly about pigment excitation and not what your eyes see.

The helius program just takes blue corals to another level.

It's all good though...........I have 3 friends that have switched to Orpheks when they saw my system in person. Two were running Radions.

Which is why I still let my whites get up to 40% for a bit at noon. It’s just TOO much white for me and my cyano algae just seems to love it.

Stock HELIOS makes my tank look brown and green.

This makes sense. I may up my white channels a bit. I would have to lower my blues. As I sit now I am getting 550 plus par at higher points in scape.

Haha exactly. Even my rock where there is no coraline looks grey and gross with the full Helios. Plus at 80% for all channels it’s way too much. Right now I’m at:

14% channel 1
28% channel 2
70% channel 3
70% channel 4
70% channel 5
65% channel 6

The tank is a nice crisp blue. Probably a hair more blue than 20k radium’s. And I get 400-550 par easily. I’m getting 200 in the bottom corners

I actually made the program simple and just set my high points for mid day and let all the colors ramp up, and down together, from 10am to 8pm. The corals look amazing but the fish only look good from 1-5pm!! Especially the wrasses. My tangs and foxface look fine throughout the photoperiod. I am going to take Big E’s advice and give it some more white.

I adjusted my whites and lowered my blues. I may up the whites a little more. I actually love the look. I will give it a month and see how the sps look. I will update this thread.

New program.

Hi I've only had my new Orphek Natura a few days I've decided to use the sun& moon sync mode which gets data from the helius program it's a lot whiter than Id normally go for but I wanted to see what the lights can do as the manufacture intended.

What size DT are you running it on and how high off the water? I just ordered a Natura Icon to replace my GHL Mitras LX7 and like yourself, I may just start with the standard Helius program then adjust from there. I will be running two perpendicular Noopsyche K7 pro III's off the ends and set the Natura parallel in the middle

My little system is a 75 DT, 36L x 20H x 24D

couple pics of how my current hangar looks with the Mitras (center) that the Natura will replace:
