This weekend I purchased a ASM Mini-G from the CR for my main tank.
It is skimming well, but the pump is VERY noisy. I pulled it apart and checked the impeller but everything looked ok.
Any suggestions to quiet this thing down?

May just need to break in... The ASM's I've had never made any noise... Not as much a fan of them as I used to be... But they're decent little skimmers... :)

This one is a little noisy, but I'm too hoping it will quiet down some after it breaks in. It's already producing a lot of foam.
I also add a piece of neoprene sheet under it. That helped a little.
So far except for the noise I'm happy with it.
It's hard to find small skimmers for small tanks that actually work well.

Try raising the water level in your sump an inch or three. My mini and G2 make a ton of noise if the water levels falls a little under the preferred operational parameter.

I'll try raising the water level in the sump.
I think that i uilt it with only 6" of depth in the skimmer chamber.
