So I found out that I had to be away for a few days starting Monday and with wife and kids gone before me, I speed up the build and fast forward a little bit, and yes I suck at documenting my process.
This is the beast, almost twice of my old tank, excuse me the wire mess and the led stand is still drying up from the paint.
Just got back from a 3 weeks absent and the tank was on autopilot, I was so scared to find out what is going to happen to my tank once I’m back. Much to my surprise that everything is alive and growing too.
So I had to leave the country last minute and did tank upgrade in a rush. there's one thing I regretted not to do, is vinegar wash my tank, now there's this foggy look of my tank even blade can't remove those calcium deposit on the glass. anyone have idea how I can clean those off with livestock in it? or I really have the empty the water again and wipe the front glass down with vinegar until it becomes clear and load the water up ?
So I was trying to clean the calcium buildup in my DT with vinegar, this is not helping at all :/
If the glass is dry, this is what I will be seeing, after cleaning that area for good 30 mins with vinegar stained cloth and sponge, I gave up. Anyone have other ideas how to get it cleaned?
So I finally got fed up with the aiptasia brothel, coral eating nudi alley rock, and frag the hell out of everything, now tossed it out in the drive way to get baked before I can repurpose it.
in another updates:
new mp40 pump in place, pp20 is the backup pump if anything fails.
new sebae clown from @enaldy, and he looks so identical to the clarkiis that I got from @RandyC. He was in the DT for first day and after the big maroon tried to kill him, i had to move him to the frag tank.
new damsel fishs from @Death BY SNU SNU
for now, coming back for pictures and other new additions to the tanks
i made a routine with him so everytime when my hand needs to be in the tank, i would first show my hand to him first, and do a finger pointing thing at him. he didnt bite me then after.
Ok tank updates, I'm seriously considering cutting the 60g acrylic tank up and turn it into a 4 feet wide frag tank. and replacing my current 40g breeder frag tank. so if anyone who's interested in my reef ready 40g breeder let me know, it has a overflow box on the left side.
So I did some test when I get home and right away my ph level was below 8.0 and after 2 hours of opening my garage door, it went up to 8.2 but no better. I also did another test before I left for work at 4am, which is again dropping to 7ish.
@jepoy, @Death BY SNU SNU are you guys experiencing low ph in your garage tanks?
I forgot to mention an update on my tank I did 2 weeks ago, so I got fed up with my heater's unreliable temperature control, and went ahead got this digital temp controller outlet from amazon
and hooked it up to 2 heater that's set at max, but will turn off when the controller reaches the max temperature, I can breath easier and without need to reach into my sump and change the heater temperature once in a while, and I can attach a fan on it if the tank gets too hot. best $35 spent.
Latest tank upgrade is this magnet been added to my stand door, where it used just lean on the stand. I don’t want the door to accidentally fall on my toddler. But dang those magnets are super strong, I had to use both hands to pull it open.
Water change station upgrade done, I had to reuse all the valves so the plumbing is *****. Still it works and no leaks reported. And excuse me the mess. It’s all cleaned up by now.
So I finally got some free time from too much work and finished setting up my dual low boy tanks. But I really suck at documenting the process, so I’m giving you the result instead.
