This is the second article I have seen that mentions red spectrum being associated with slow or no growth.

"Exposure to only 'red' light significantly inhibits the productive cycle (is this the reason for the slightly less efficiency of the 'mixed' light?)."

I will read through it again also, they do have some purty big words in there.

I was getting pieces and parts together for a new canopy. I can't choose between MH and T5 so I am going to do both. I will have (6) 54w T5's and (2) 250w MH over my tank when I upgrade. I was planning on adding Fiji purple or Pro Color bulbs to the mix but after reading that article I think I will hold off. I need growth more than anything else so.
