Like George RR Martin once said, the best villains are the ones that don't think they're villains. That's the perfect description to Thanos and he ended up being a much more interesting/sympathetic character than I thought he would be

For a good compare and contrast, put him next to Steppenwolf. Steppenwolf is boring.
