I really like the look. On a practical basis, there are quite a few places to mount corals. You might think of drilling the rock so it will accept frag plugs, That way, new frags will be plug and play. But that is up to you.

NSA had its 15 minutes of fame, but it's a poor habitat for reef fish. Who ever came up with the idea must have never seen a real reef.

I'm asking this in earnest, what is it about NSA that makes it a poor habitat? I'm pretty new to salt water so forgive my ignorance.

I’m new as well. But my understanding is NSA is more about coral placement and disregards the natural habitat of the ocean species. ie. caves, overhangs and such. The one I attempted is an HNSA where it tries to keep the NSA design but also provide habitat for the fish. This way they are less stressed.

No place to hide, no place to sleep, no place to get away from others, potentially increases aggression and stress due to decreased territory. Completely the opposite of what a natural reef habitat is. Watch some reef diving or snorkeling videos and you'll see. The night footage on The Great Barrier Reef is also good. It shows the predators terrorizing and hunting for the reef fish at night. Most find a hole to hide and sleep in at night for survival. NSA was created by people that wanted to create an art piece, not a piece of reef for fish.

Finished this yesterday, took forever for the tank to clear after adding the sand. Pictures do not do any justice here, they fail to capture the dimensions and depth (Front to back ) of the tank.
