I’ll see you one aiptasia and raise you some 4 inch long gha.

I have no aiptasia but I can certainly admire the hard work you guys have put into growing yours! (I do seriously have four inch long hair algae tho. Lettuce nudibranch literally climbs it to eat it.)

I "thought" I didnt have any Aptiasia in either of my two tanks. I had one early on, attached to a wild blow pop zoa colony on a piece of live rock. I glued it - waste of time.

I subsequently Pulled the rock and broke off the infected piece (boy the wife was mad when I broke off part of her coral and threw it away). I have not seen an Aptiasia since for now some ~8 months since tank first wet.

Fast forward to last week in troubleshooting an issue with one of the tanks with RedSea. They had me turn the return pump to maximium and it made the kiddos pulsing xenia retract only to find his xenia coral which we acquired some ~5-6 months ago had buried on the frag plug a monster Aptiasia.

I'm amazed that it's been there for months without my knowledge and Furthermore does not appear to have spread - to my knowledge. I pulled the xenia over the weekend and cut off the portion of the original frag plug.

I'm sure others Aptiasia problems are worse but I have a neat story to go with.

Please wish me luck that there are no more hidden out there

I had a single itsy bitsy aiptasia on my heater and got 2 peppermint shrimp to handle it.

I suspect they ate my green bta and will not be replacing the last one when it dies
