Apex Neptune ATK/FMM not powering on....

Done a water change today, gone to plug my fmm back in (it runs independently as I can't currently fork out the money for the 'brain') and it won't power on. Regardless which extension lead I plug it into, the light turns on for less than a minute before it blinks out.
I don't have the luxury of plugging it directly into a socket.
It goes blue, green and the flashes amber before blinking out.
Located in the UK, so thought I would check here before contacting Neptune as they are a little slower to respond this side of the pond.
