I've had my apex set up auto dosing for a while, today when getting back from the store I noticed it was running, it dumped a whole liter bottle of alkalnity red sea solution into my tank.
Thoughts?
I can not even get it to turn off, the pump is just continuously running. It is scheduled to dose about 14 ml a day and has worked fine for a while. Only fish in the tank and a few anemones, alk was 8.5 now its over 15.
Any help would be great, I've nearly had it with the APEX system.

Yea I've seriously had it with Apex. This system is garbage.
$3000 dollars for it to do this.
Do you know why it stuck on? Is the outlet just on a timer?

Huge water change (50-60%) and retest after 18-24 hrs
What kit are you using to test alk ?

Ok I am 14.38 on ALK and 8.46 on PH.
Jump was from 8.2-14.38 on alk and 7.7-8.5 on PH.
These values aren't too terribly out of line, do you think a large water change (causing another swing down) could be a bad idea considering the values aren't too high?
I am unsure of the effect of these values on fish, I've never had either this high.

Also if anyone sees this is considering an Apex, before spending $3000 on a system like this, consider the jebao doser that costs $65 on Amazon.

I would think it'd be better to have a brief-ish spike to 14dKH and get back down, than leave it hanging up there after a 6 point hike. Even if you do a 50% water with 8dkh all you are doing is getting halfway back to what it was. It's still a fairly big jump.

Update, no water change I am monitoring. I do not like doing large WC right after putting new fish in. (my refracto is also at my other residence leaving me with only the APEX.. which I trust.. I think?
PH is down to 8.3 naturally. FIsh are doing very well.

I think not dosing mg yet and having it around 1100 is helping a lot.
Foxface is a great indicator of stress for me, and he has kept all his color.
Here is part of the tank.

The anemones are feeling the effects, they survive nearly anything however.

Also here is this, this doser has been scheduled to dose around 12 ml per day for a few months.
I suppose it's genius brain decided the tank was hungry for some alk, 1067.4 milliliters of it.
