I want to tear down the center overflow and cover it up with acrylic and move the overflow to the back of tank as a coast to coast- really don't appreciate all the lost real estate in this 48"x48"x24 cube- is this possible to do?

If you're brave enough...

Keep in mind tempered glass can NOT be drilled so you have to find this out before you can think about taking this on (unless you have a workaround that doesn't involve drilling), best of luck!

This interest me. So this tasnk is designed to be viewed on all four sides with the overflow in the center? Very cool indeed. Always wanted one !
Could we please have some more pics if the tank ?

Absolutely could be done but it will be a project for sure but a fun one.

The tank would need to be emptied and metal banded top, bottom, and middle, a new tempered glass overlay covering the entire bottom or as close to all edges as possible good silicone around all edges. and cured.

Then the drilling and an inner or outer coast to coast and bulkhead plumb. (your decision) IME the inner works better. Silicone, a good cure.

Remove and replace all top euro bracing using the same method. Cure well again.

Release all metal banding when all is cured and strong.

Water test and you should be set.

If you decide to do so, please attach pics.

Figures...just noticed its acrylic. I've only officially built 3 acrylic tanks and a few repairs on some acrylic tanks. I cannot honestly tell how to do the acrylic. So maybe it might be along the lines as above, but please do not hold me to it especially all being pretty much 'melted together in acrylic.

Hopefully, someone with extensive builds in acrylic could chime in.

Sorry. I put the cart ahead of the horse on this one. Argh.
