I recently added 3 Hector's Goby's in my 13.5 EVO Tank, at first it was hard to find them. They seem to hide a night and in day, I find them but always on the bottom.

My concern will they eat down at bottom and what can be done to help.

The tank is relatively new 2 1/2 months but stable except when I foolish added 2 Red Tail Damsels that killed my Cleaner Shrimp,
My LFS recommend Garlic but did not have it in store.

i cant think

Garlic isn’t a good thing for fish which don’t already feed as it’s a deterrent more than anything.

Generally these are fish that won’t feed much out of the water column but also they will likely starve in your tank. The system is too young to hold them long term and even when established (you want a good year if not 2 of being set up before going for these fish) it can only hold 1 long term. These guys feed from the sand bed and get most of their nutrients from there. Unless you can feed 5-8 times a day they’ll likely starve as their metabolism is incredibly high.

I've seen mine picking off planaria and pods alike. He isn't going to strip a 25 gallon of pods and flatworms will he? I have nothing else that predates the worms and only a clown that picks off some of the fatter pods.

Hopefully I didn't underestimate the appetite of one of these guys.

I had mine starve in a 18-20G tank, if you’re able to supplement the pods then you’ll more likely be able to keep these fish but it’s tanks less than 20G I find they starve most commonly.

Well here's to buying pods on the regular and skipping that velvet nudibranch purchase.

IMO you should return at least 2 of them. Mine don't eat regular food when I feed my other fish, it just picks at the rocks and sand all day.

They seem to disappeared at night, and pick at sand. I do feed more than once a day. Chemistry is really good. I had no issues at all with tank. I did notice them coming out more.
