I have two gen two radion xr30s that are in great shape. I can connect with esl and program them both but the internal clock on either one is not working. I have been trying for three days doing every single trick on the Internet with no success at getting them to keep schedule. When I set the time if I watch it while still connected it loses time in minutes. If I click on each light in the my aquarium list the time will change every time I click it to random times. Any advice?

Yes looking at it there is a button battery and capacitor but I'm not sure what size/rating it is. After all I have done it has to be something like that. I'll post pics when I get home
Most electronics have a cr2025 or similiar button battery to keep the time and date settings. I’m pretty sure you replace that and your problem goes away.

I am going to update this thread because I have spent three days getting my butt kicked and I might have it figured out and a hundred other threads just stop once it is fixed, or they gave up. I scoured the lfs in my area and found a reeflink. I went to set it up and the previous owner had it linked to their account. I Waited overnight for customer service to get in and remove it and they did. I had to load, update and program this thing for three hours because it would get to a point and timeout.

The time it worked was when I followed the following:
1. Plug reeflink in with only the USB connected (no power or Ethernet)
2. Format SD card
3. Update firmware
4. Select "wifi". I tried to hardwire it thinking it would be more reliable and it froze and failed in several different ways .
5. Load each light individually by connecting USB cable to each one and loading.
6. Import schedule and program lights. Final step was I had to set the time and program again.
7. Sign out of ecosmart live as fast as possible and hope both of them stayed right and didn't get corrupted .
More to follow at 830pm when I will see if they shut off correctly.

2030 lights tracked and are still current. I guess if you have two old ones reeflink is the way to go.
