Annularia Angel Help

Hello All! I have a decent sized Annularis Angel that has these white spots all over him. I took him to my LFS and they are not sure what it is either. He is still eating (albeit not as much) and is still swimming and active, but it is definitely getting worse and much more rapid. Started about a week ago and I tried Melafix in the tank with no results. I want to treat him, but not sure what to treat for and wondering if I need to treat my display tank as well so my other fish do not get it. No signs on any of the other fish as of yet. Thanks for any advice!!

This is ympho which is a condition and not disease. Often its associated with water quality issue as simple as elevated ammonia or nitrate and can be that of water from LFS and not yours. Assure to provide Good water quality monitored by a reliable test kit and feed nutritious food with fats such as LRS nano frenzy and mysis shrimp.

This is ympho which is a condition and not disease. Often its associated with water quality issue as simple as elevated ammonia or nitrate and can be that of water from LFS and not yours. Assure to provide Good water quality monitored by a reliable test kit and feed nutritious food with fats such as LRS nano frenzy and mysis shrimp.

Thank you! I test with a Hannah Marine Master for all but mag, for which I use a salifert kit. Everything has been normal minus some lower mag level I have been working on increasing. When I get to the tank today I will test again and post up for review. Thank you again!!

Melafix is a tonic made of teak tree oil and useless in saltwater and even freshwater. Ruby Rally Pro would be of more help and safe to use but with good water quality will fall off on its own

Melafix has its uses and not "useless" but I agree, not in this case.

Yes, that’s a very serious case of the viral disease, Lymphocystis. I’ve seen fish this bad eventually recover, but not always. There is not treatment other than supportive help - clean water and feed it as well as you can.
It may take 6 weeks or more to see some recovery.
Because it is a viral disease, it can be contagious to other fish. In most cases though, the other fish have been previously exposed and are now immune.
