What is you light combo front to back. Btw awesomeeee tank

Thank You. Im running a Giesmann Bilux fixture. The fixture runs any 2 mogul socket bulb ballast combo that you want...But Having 2 bulbs over a tiny reef like this was a bit redundant. What I did was remove one of the sockets and centered one in the middle and fitted 4 T-5's and ballast and DIY reflector. So to answer your question Im running 1x250 watt Radium 20k of course and 4x18 watt actinic T-5's.

i just got my original unique corals strawberry shortcake.

whats your advice for flow, lighting, placement? is the growth pretty slow like i hear?

are you happy with the craftsmanship of the deep blue?

Thank you for the compliment! Yes slow grower but receiving lots of light and flow. Yes I like the deep blue a lot. I live in a apartment so Im very limited to tank size.

This is a photo of a wild mummy eye chalice that I picked up. I love the soft colors in it.

Here is a photo of my Pinkalicious Chalice getting a majority of flow in the reef.

What return pump are you using? Yesterday I installed a Mag Drive 3, the sound of the drain water crashing into the sump sounds like Niagara Falls.

Hey Rob. Im using a eheim compact 3000 for my return (external). I have a ball valve/ true union before the pump incase I want to restrict flow or have to do maintenance on the pump. I have it all the way open which seems to work out nice. I dont have any splash. One great thing that I love about DELTEC (the original line) is that they can be gravity fed. I love this concept for the reason that the water that is skimmed from the surface of the display goes straight to the skimmer instead to the sump where its is mixed with the clean water from the out put of the skimmer and cycled back again. So my drain runs to the skimmer but is T'd off before the skimmer so flow can be controlled to the skimmer. The flow that does not go to the skimmer is drained into a "splash box". Which basically is a baffle/chamber that is covered to muffle the noise and reduce micro bubbles. Ill have to take some pics to show you. Its a pretty awesome sump that I had made by a good friend of mine.

Congrats!!!

Thanks! It such a small foot print that it reminds me of a little tide pool reef! The media that Im using in my reactor is Two Little Fishies ReBorn. The ph runs between 6.5-6.7.

Looking forward to some pics, I don't mind it if I have to make a custom sump, I bought the tank from a friend and he kindly loaned me a small sump.

Hey Rob. Here is a photo of my sump. If you look at the bottom right of the tank you'll see a area where the drain to the skimmer is T'ed of too. Its a great concept! Like I said earlier the bulk of the water coming from the overflow is going to the skimmer but what goes into the "splash box" has no sound.
