And you wonder why I have the name I do. What a headache...

The link below should take you to post 40 in my build thread. I didn't want to post the same post twice. So I thought I would share a link and not spam the boards. It would appear my temporary stock tank had some damage before I set it up and didn't realize that. I am about 4-6 weeks away from thinking about adding anything to my new tank. I am still missing a couple key items (like my sump, and a few odds and ends. Take a look. Leave it and run the risk while checking the crack daily? Take a full day and switch it into a new stock tank (I would have to unload it into totes then reload it into a new stock tank. What a headache... Get some stainless steel screws and a brace? Put some epoxy with that?

If that crack was present since you filled the tank then the damaged tank would seem to be fine holding water with the crack present.

If you bumped it or leaned on/or stressed the tank so that it broke, don’t do that again and watch the crack for the next day or so and if the crack is not migrating ( mark the ends with a sharpie) then it should be fine going forward.

JBWeld epoxy putty should work fine to plug the hole and prevent salt creep and leaks.

Don’t let your low self esteem issues and unfair self destructive outlook get you busy with a crack that could happen to anyone and is not threatening to fail in the near future.

It’s just a small flesh wound :thinking-face: :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

Repair the crack, this happened to me when I was moving to my 300 gallon when the cucumber nuked my 125 gallon right in the middle of setting the bigger tank up. Annoying

@littlefoxx @KrisReef - Thanks for checking this out. I've always had a black cloud following me, I have figured out how to weaponize it :) lol - I am guessing the crack happened before I filled it. This this is super tough. I filled it with aquarium silicone for now, but, there wasn't any signs of creep or anything. It's about 3/4 - 1 inch above the water line now. I did mark it with a sharpie. I am also wondering if I should drill a hole through where the split is. I've read that can help prevent further splitting. BUT, I would assume I would only do that if the split went past the sharpie. It's always something, lol.

Yeah I would just keep an eye on it. This is just temporary until the new tank is ready right?

Yeah. My hopes are 6 weeks and I can have at least that stock tank in the new tank. If not less. My hopes are that from the 28th through the 8th I can plumb and test the tank. Then by the 13th get all the TBS sand and new rock in there. Let it run for a couple weeks, then start moving stuff over. I am just waiting on a couple items preventing me from really starting this, short of the closed loops.
