Great you won’t be disappointed with tiny reefs . All good things come in small packages

I think the Aqueon mini 5watt heater might be your best bet. $11 at Petco right now. Surprised you'd need one though.
I talked with Tampa Bay Saltwater; they keep their micros without a heater. I guess it may just depend on what we keep in the tank. The rock, sand, and inverts will probably be OK, but I'm just curious how a small piece of coral would do in it. I keep my place at 65F year round.

I'm like 70/71 here. there are cold water corals with a whole reef in Scandinavia.

Have you come up with stocking ideas yet? Good luck with the build
Thoughts, but no decisions yet. I'm going to see how much space I have to work with after my Tampa Bay Saltwater shipment get's here.

In a room with relatively stable temps, coral haven't needed a heater in my experience. I removed heaters from most my tanks after a particularly bad failure, and if anything the coral were happier (no fish, no worries). I was recording 7°F temp swings over the course of the day and soft/LPS corals had no issues with it. I even had a jar in a windowsill for a couple weeks that did well for the time I had it.
