How are the replacement temp probes working? My standard temp probe on my SL1 that control my chiller and heater its showing an "Error" message and alarm. I tried replace than for a Amazon probe that was good and stable here on forum and didnt work for me, after two weeks start drifts really bad. I Just calibrated a lot different probes and nothing stable.

I am not sure what is being used as a replacement now. I still have some DA temp probes. I have been switching over everything to the Hydros. So I have enough DA temp probes for my use now. If I remember correctly there was another thread started on temp probes here on R2R. You might search for that also.

I had the same issue with my SL1 probe driffting a lot. Turns out the port for the temp probe in the SL1 is bad. I just use the iTemp probe now and dont have the issue any more.

Hi there!
I have a mayor issue with my RKL SL1 module. Everything worked fine for several years until I tried to recalibrate the PH probe due a maintenance to my Calcium reactor. The raw data shows minus symbol and the same number (-653 p.e.) in both ranges (7.0 and 10.0) and whatever it is the solution or water tested always reads 7.0 PH
I tried with two probes, one new and one old... same results...
Any advice?
Thanks a lot!

I think there is a way to reset the port using myReef. I don't have an RKE setup at the moment to check though.
May be the SL1 UNIT

I just did a firmware’s reset to SL1 module, nothing happens

Might as well be, but I’m not sure what I should be looking for in the electronics circuits

I hooked up my RKE with a SL1. I get around 300 for raw data with no pH probe hooked to it. I will have to see if I can get it powered close to a pH probe to get a raw data reading with a probe.

Ok, I was able to momentarily hook a pH probe in the tank to the SL1 and the raw data reads around 830 with it. Hope fully this will give you a reference.

Thanks so much.
definitely my SL1 it’s not working.
After a factory reset, raw data oscillates between 150 and 284 with cal solutions 7.0 and 10.0
Now I have a serious problem i need to find a new module, but I think it’s a impossible task on my country. Maybe it’s time to shutdown the reefkeeper forever

A SL2v2 will work if you are not interested in the ORP port. Also a SLX module will work. The SLX is a replacement for the original SL1 module.

Old thread and old equipment but I still love my Elite unit!
Has anyone attempted to rewire a Neptune temp probe to work with the RK?
Did you see post #84 it has a chart of the thermistor readings at different temperatures for the thermistor in the DA probe. I am not sure what Neptune uses for their probes.

@n2585722,

Can you (or someone that has the latest versions) send me the code for RKL, PC4, and ALC, thanks! Mine are all 2.0x versions.

Also, I just had to replace my 70W MH light with an LED thats dimmable (hence why I just found out DA is no longer around) and would like directions on how to program the RKL to ramp the lights on/off. Is it similar to the RKE?

The latest firmware I have for the RKL is 2.08. The PC 4 is 2.04 and the ALC is 2.09. The programming for the ALC is the same on the RKE and RKL except I think the RKL will not do as long of a ramp time. I hope this helps.

thanks!

this is what code my modules are running:
RKL: 2.06
PC4: 2.04
ACL: 2.08

So I would like to set up the new light which has controller inputs (0-10V, one for whites, other for blues) and use the ACL module to ramp lights up and down. in the RKL manual, not seeing a clear way to do this. When selecting "Advanced lights" there's no place to set the on/off time, just ramp and delay?
