Algaefix and Diatoms

Will AlgaeFix/Vibrant have any impact on diatoms? I like to keep a small amount of diatoms in my aquarium for a variety reasons, so just wondering if there will be any interference. Currently have a bubble algae invasion going on, so somethings got to give.

yep. Diatoms are strongly affected. This is both from the published info on the algaecide and personal observation. New aquaria with algaefix skip the diatom phase compared to a system without it, and then the cyano phase followed (with or without algaefix).
