Algae thrives from nutrients lots of nutrients inside them skimmers.

Thanks mike! I guess it's doin it's job then. Is it gonna cause any problems? Should I find a way to clean it or leave it like that.

I would clean it out periodically. It might affect the performance of the skimmer over time.

I'd say its from the light hitting it. Looks like the only part of the skimmer thats getting any light. Use a black line and it won't grow.

Definitely clean it out, it will 100% affect the performance of your skimmer
