I was wondering what a good AI Prime light setting would be for a Innovatie Marine 15 Gallon LPS tank. Really looking forward to going with Goni, Acans, Blastos, Plate Coral, 1 red monti, and zoas. It might not be all Lps, but mostly Lps dominated. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it. Also I’ll post a picture of the current aqua scape. It might change a little, but not much.

These are the changes. On the left and right I’ll raise the aqua scape by half an inch. Then on the left connect the two rocks making a second cave. Then possibly add an over hang on the front for corals that need more lighting. So I can have two places. Also it will add more depth to the tank. Oh, I almost forgot. I’ll also push the left rock in a little more for added cleaning space.

I have the exact same setup. I use the Saxby setting backed off about 10-15 percent. Gives me about 100-200 par throughout the tank at peak. I made a few modifications to length of time but I’ll upload a pic if you want.

Edit: after looking at the original Saxby values it looks like I backed it off a bit over 20 percent.

I’d love to see it! Other peoples tanks really give me some inspiration to try and plan something out that will look just as great. Also the Saxby setting is a preset on the Ai website, correct?

I took some inspiration from Saxby. I have 2 on my 30, 9 inches off the water with diffusers. My sps grow slowly but maintain nice color. Lps and soft corals grow like weeds.

I love the look of your tank! It’s a nice balance and doesn’t look to blue. Once I get my first set of corals in the tank I might observe and see what they like based off of the settings you guys have sent so far.

Yeah Saxby is in the signature series section. IMG_0308.jpeg
Here’s a tank pic. Zoas aren’t happy and the hammer needs a little love as I just moved it.

That is the look I get during my high light hours. The whites fade away and my last few hours are funky purple blue. Best of both worlds.

It still looks awesome. Your making me want to redo all of my rock work . I think I went way to simple at this point.

Dang, I love the tanks! I see that your a stick head mainly. I can’t wait to get there myself. Also the last tank must be very mature to have that much coralline algae.

Thanks! Your rockwork honestly looks good. You could put a garden on each side and whatever all along the arch. You also left room to work. Smart!

How do you know at what percentage you’re running at? Is the lines that goes across in increments of 10% ?

I backed the total value of the original setting back by 10-15 percent. But the numbers on the schedule photo will show the percentage value of each part of the spectrum.

Ah okay I see what you’re saying. The percentage is for the color and does that also indicates the intensity? Is intensity different for everyone depending on the size and depth of the tank?

Yes it would indicate the percentage of intensity if I understand your question correctly. the intensity would be the same on every configuration. If you are referring to PAR which is what the corals are receiving it would definitely be different depending on many factors including tank depth and size. It could also include mounting height, diffusers and even flow.

Thank you for taking the time to explain that to me.
