This is my two and a half year old 55 gallon 48" x 12" x 21" with a 20 gallon sump.
Currently stocked with;
YWG
Firefish
Carpenter's flasher wrasse
Black Line Fang Blenny
Springeri Dottyback
The YWG and Firefish have been in the longest, couple years. The wrasse a year, Blackline six months, Dottyback just a month or so. Everyone gets along, the wrasse can be annoying, but the others just ignore him. I don't have any shrimp, and have no real plans for any.

I've considered Clowns, single or a pair. I have one in my other tank with a Tailspot Blenny, and she's fine. But, kind of been there, done that.

I would like to add another fish. I much prefer tank raised or aquacultured rather than wild caught. I just think it makes more sense. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I’m a big fan of my blue spotted puffer. Very curious fellow. Definitely recognizes me at feeding time.
Lyretail anthias are on my wish list though.

Any issues of your puffer after corals or snails?
Yeah, he snacks on invertebrates when possible. I’m frequently buying more. There are two Florida mantis shrimp in there so everything gets nabbed eventually. No trouble with corals though. He loves to chomp on nori

Yellow tang would work and biota has the captive bread. I have 3 growing up now. They are great algae eaters too.

EDIT :

Love my two spot bristle tooth also. Non stop rock grazing. Don't think they are being captive bred tho

Thanks for the reply! I think my tank is a little small for a tang, sadly.

Thanks for the reply, but it's only a 55 gal, so a bit small for a Lyretail. I wouldn't feel right about it.

Not a yellow. The police will probably come running but I keep a yellow and the bristle tooth in 36x23x23" tank and they get along fine. No nervous swimming or lapping the tank. They just cruise around all day grazing. They don't even tail smack each other. Good on you tho for being aware of thier recommended needs, too many people ignore them. I do have larger tanks I can move fish to so I can push the boundaries a bit.
A flame angel would add a nice splash of color but I don't thing they are being captive bred either. Sorry I'm not really much help today :face-with-hand-over-mouth:

Fully agree.
It’s OK to push the envelope.
That moves the hobby forward in my thinking.

Mine seemed to max out now after 5 years at 4”.

I’d put one in a 24” cube.

This is a yellow and blue in 55g.

They key for me is being able to recognize if a fish is stressed. If the small tank is causing stress I'll move it to the big tank.
I actually have a cube I would love to put one in for algae control but I have a big blue haddoni in the tank and have already traveled that road :crying-face:

+1 on the Biota Yellow Tangs

They have Biota Filefish too, I don't have any Aptasia. And plan to keep it that way.

She picks at the algae on the rocks, sluggishly. She does everything sluggish

Think about it

If all the fish you have to sell, instead of pulling from the Sea, you make them there at your store, what are the chances of the fish having Covid25 or Crabs?

That alone is an awesome selling point, essentially quarantined from birth

Well, I'll have to think on a Yellow Tang! I have also thought about a dwarf angel, but for whatever reason, my wife hates angels.

They have this biota misbar at my LFS. It's been there a year and is fat and healthy. If I didn't have concerns over it nipping corals and clams I'd have it in my tank.

I think a yellow would be a good addition. Looking at your stocking list it would probably end up the centerpiece fish. I think they are a really cool fish. I was playing peekaboo last night with the single one I have in with the bristletooth. The biota ones ship small and are pale because they are so young but mine have grown fast and are coloring up nicely.

Sorry to butt in but I just had to ask something.

Hey man, I really like this green encrusting coral of yours in the bottom left of the screen, I knew the name but I completely forgot it. I’ve looked for the name for a good 10 minutes and I still couldn’t find it -_-

Could you please tell me its name? Also how do you frag it? Is there any way to just take it off of the main rock and frag it into frag plates? Or is it like once it’s on the rock, it’s on there and there is no way to get it off?

Your not being a butt. I ask way more question than I can answer. It was given to me as a Platygyra but it may not be an actual one. Maze brain coral is the common name I think. I've never fragged one but they have skeleton under the flesh and from the frags I've seen it looks like they just cut them up into chunks. It's not really an encruster as it has a skeleton. This one is concave underneath and is sitting on the rock I cut flat to place it on. It's been an interesting piece. I've had it for several years and it just survived for most of that time. I moved it into my new tank a couple of months ago and it seems to be much happier. It's much more inflated and has been extending sweepers so I have hopes for it.
You can see a couple of sweeper here. I'll probably have to move it a little further away from the bubble because it isn't to friendly either

EDIT : reread and saw butt in but I read be a butt lol. Sorry I don't think Scott will mind
